COMPETENCE GOALS AND DEMONSTRATION OF COMPETENCE

(Edupreneurship Badge 1)

Knowing the conceptual frameworks underlying entrepreneurship education informs effective teaching that promotes students' rise through a culture of innovation and adaptability. Besides teaching other critical skills into problem-solving and critical thinking, for instance, entrepreneurship education causes a mindset that characterizes acceptance of risk and creativeness. I have learned to appreciate intrapreneurship and extrapreneurship concepts in my field. Each of these terms describes initiative and entrepreneurial skills both within an existing organization and beyond the traditional boundaries. Thus, teaching the students about inspiring initiative and innovation within a corporate environment or their own projects has been comfortable for me.

Intrapreneurship can be defined as the system contained within an organization or company, which enables employees to act like entrepreneurs. Intrapreneurs are self-motivated, proactive, action-oriented individuals who initiate innovative products or services.

We define Extrapreneurship as the pursuit of identifying and solving problems to create an improved future. Extrapreneurs are the extraordinary individuals who work to create and innovate be that as entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs working inside organisations, product managers, transformation leaders or as investors.

More importantly, I reflect on how to develop the intrapreneurial and extrapreneurial skills of my students through practical assignments and projects that inculcate team spirit and fostering new ideas. It is this identification of problems in organizations and finding a solution that inculcates an entrepreneurial drive in the students and prepares them for the challenges of the outside world. Further, the concept of edupreneurship, where professionals in education apply principles of entrepreneurship to maximize their educational practices, has kept me involved in continuous innovation regarding teaching methodologies and curriculum so as to achieve maximum involvement and learning outcomes from my students.

I can only hope that together, these principles will create a dynamic classroom environment that will prepare students with the skills needed for the future, but also challenge them to think deeply about their role within the ever-changing landscape of business and education.
